Application of RFID Tags in Express Logistics Industry
With the rapid development of the express logistics industry, efficiency and accuracy have become core competitiveness. Relying on the advantages of batch identification of multiple tags and non-contact reading, RFID technology has realized the intelligent upgrading of the entire logistics link. Among them, the RFID UHF tags and RFID UHF tire tags developed by RFID tag manufacturers for logistics scenarios have solved the pain points of package management and transportation safety respectively, becoming a key support for smart logistics.
The warehousing and sorting link is the core application scenario of RFID technology supplier. Workers place packages pasted with RFID UHF adhesive tags on the sorting conveyor belt. The reader-writer can batch identify the information of dozens of tags within 1 second, and the system controls the sorting mechanism to complete the classification automatically. The efficiency reaches 12,000 pieces per hour, which is far higher than the manual sorting of 200 pieces per hour. Xu Fuji has increased the efficiency of inbound and outbound by 60% and reduced the loss of package loss by 20% through this solution. The self-adhesive property of the tag is suitable for various package materials, and it is oil-resistant and waterproof, which can still work stably in a humid warehouse environment.
In the transportation link, UHF tire tags and RFID batteryless pressure sensor tags provide protection for the safety of logistics vehicles. The tag is embedded in the tire, collects real-time data such as tire pressure and wear, and uploads it to the management platform in combination with the on-board reader-writer and GPS system. If there is an abnormal tire pressure, the system will issue an early warning immediately to avoid the risk of tire blowout. At the same time, the tag is associated with vehicle information, which is convenient for the dispatching center to track the transportation trajectory, realizing the dual visibility of "goods-vehicles" and solving the "black box" problem of traditional transportation.
The terminal distribution and inventory management have also benefited significantly. Staff at courier stations can complete the arrival registration of 100 packages within 30 seconds by scanning RFID UHF adhesive tags with handheld readers; McDonald's has reduced the daily inventory time of restaurants by 75% and the inventory accuracy rate is close to 100% through this technology. Enterprises such as Cainiao have shipped more than 100 million pieces annually, laying a foundation for large-scale applications. In the future, RFID tags will be combined with blockchain to realize non-tamperable package information and build a more credible logistics ecosystem.
